TransAlta

Project Leads
Joe Belmonte“I think it has a lot of benefits, not just for our students, but for our community as well. I think it can help continue to make Tenino a destination area and it will bring a positive economic impact to the community.”
|
Forrest Bergin"We have professional coaches and staff that pour their heart and souls into our kids. We need a field that they can shine on and play to their potential. "
|
Garry Cameron"The field surface had become so muddy that it became unplayable at times which led to many cancelled practices and games for our students. The installed synthetic turf will be usable year-round for our students. There is a school pride component in having a turf that matches our school colors. Our students are very excited about the black field turf and red end zones for Tenino Beaver Stadium!"

The need...
The Project
The Tenino High School stadium renovation project will address the following needs:

- Replacement of the existing natural turf field with an artificial/synthetic turf system suitable for multi-purpose sport use
- Replacement of the existing 8 lane track
- Upgrade of the existing lighting
- Replacement of the existing scoreboard
- Upgrade current sound system,
- Renovation of the existing stadium entrance creating a court yard area near the concession stand to accommodate attendees
- Project shall include, but is not limited to, establishing all underground conduits, connecting to existing utilities, installation of new drainage and irrigation system into existing infrastructure, installation of one (1) long/triple jump pit with runways
- Options for placement of existing discus cage and shot put area to be addressed.
Student Safety & Field Condition
- Our field is over 30 years old.
- Current irrigation presents safety issues.
- Drains are lower than field line; field is not level and off center.
- The field does not drain properly due to compaction.
- Current field size is not adequate for some sports.
- The current lighting at the stadium is inadequate.
- A turf field will reduce weather related delays and/or cancellations.
- Greater return on investment relative to long term track and field maintenance expenses. Increase use of field from 30 events per year to 200+ events per year.
